Baer Earns Top Ten Finish at Mountain Speedway
(May 13, 2012)- For over three seasons now, “Nitro” Nick Pecko of Vandling, PA has been trying to victory lane in the Sport Modified division at Mountain Speedway. Bad luck and gremlins denied him of that feat in the past, but the curse has been lifted, as Pecko finally accomplished the feat Sunday at Mountain Speedway.
Pecko started from the pole position and led the opening circuit of the 40-lap Sport Modified main event over Scott Adams, Todd Baer, Jim Bojohnny and Tommy Wanick. With Pecko still in command, Dave Brigati worked by Wanick for fifth on lap four and the disposed of Bojohnny for the fourth position three laps later.
The first of four cautions flew on lap 15 When Robert Fink and Wanick tangled in turns one and two. Both drivers were forced to restart from the tail end of the field.
With a clean restart, Pecko resumed the race lead and Baer got by Adams for second. Six laps later Brigati too the third spot from Adams. Read More
 
Baer Has Solid Top Ten in Mountain’s Modified Opener
(May 6, 2012)- Following a feature win elsewhere the night prior, Bobby Jones of Palmerton, PA started thirteenth in Sunday’s Modified feature at Mountain Speedway. Jones wasted no time and worked into the lead on lap eight and was barely contested for the feature victory.
   Todd Baer ran the fastest Modified lap in time trials two weeks prior, but Barry Callavini drew the pole position during the redraw and led the field to the drop of the green flag in the 40-lap feature. Without a single lap scored, the yellow flew when Nick Pecko, Harry Buchman, Wayne Szerencsits and Allen Creveling collected in turns one and two.
   Callavini led the opening lap over Dave Brigati, Baer, Jason Hearne and Zane Zeiner and then the yellow waved on lap sic when Zeiner made contact with Hearne, who shot up the track in turn one. Both drivers were forced to restart from the rear of the field.
   Brigati edged Callavini for the race lead following the restart and Bobby Jones cracked the top five., then ran fourth behind Ken Vogel. Following a quick caution period on lap eight, Jones stayed to the outside of Brigati and took the lead. Read More
 
Baer Finishes Third at Mountain Speedway
(April 29, 2012) After losing “The Captain” Bruce Miglino, a crewmember and good friend of his, Dave Brigati of Long Island, NY was determined to win the Sport Modified feature at Mountain Speedway on Sunday. It wasn’t an easy task for last seasons champion, but when it was all said and done, Brigati and his team stood tall in victory lane.
  Nick Pecko started from the pole and led the opening circuit of the 40-lap Sport Modified feature over Jim Bojohnny, Scott Adams, Chip Wanamaker and Todd Baer. With Pecko still in command, Wanamaker moved by Baer and into the fourth spot on lap eight and Dave Brigati cracked the top five two laps later.
  The first yellow flag waved when Brigati and Baer raced hard for the fourth spot. The pair bumped and Baer spun in turn four. The restart wasn’t a success, as Bojohnny and Adams tangled for a moment in turn one. When green flag racing resumed Brigati got the jump on Pecko and took control of the lead.
  With eighteen laps complete, Brigati led over Tommy Wanick III, who had quietly worked to the runner up position. Paul Frantz held third, with Jason Hearne and Pecko in tow. Read More
 
Baer Has Consistent Showing in Triple 25s at Mahoning Valley Speedway
  (LEHIGHTON, PA 4-28-12) In the first installment of the Mahoning Modified Madness Series which featured the Triple 25s, Zane Zeiner, Bath, Don Wagner, Wharton NJ, and Matt Hirschman from Northampton picked up victories.
  Each race paid $1000-to-win and was highlighted by an inversion of the second and third features. The well thought out concept proved to be a success as 30 quality asphalt Modifieds where pit-side looking to make the 22 car starting grid via time trials and a pair of B-mains.
  The first feature was a heads-up start after time trials with Zeiner’s lap of 9.769 good enough for the pole. Hirschman would start second and once the race got underway it became a fast dash as the first 23 laps were reeled off nonstop. Read More
 
Baer Times Quickest in Modified for Mountain Opener
(April 21, 2012)- Despite the threat of a soaking rain on Saturday, Mountain Speedway drivers came to the facility to run time trials to get locked in to the Opening Day show on Sunday. The rains held off and by the time it was all said and done, Todd Baer of New Tripoli turned the quickest lap in his Modified. Chip Wanamaker of Walnutport ran the quickest Street Stock lap and Cody Roth of Kunkletown was the fastest of the Four Cylinder competitors. A 100-lap Four Cylinder enduro was also held and Ken Harper scored the win for his first victory of the season.
 
The Modified main event that was slated for Sunday, April 22 was rained out. The Modified opener is now set for Sunday, May 6.
 
Todd Baer Notches 7th Place Run at Mountain's Sport Modified Opener
(April 15, 2012)- Following time trials that were held on Saturday, Mountain Speedway’s official 2012 racing season took the green flag on Sunday. Following a quick timed lap the day prior, Jason Hearne of Jacobstown, NJ held off Rusty Smith to claim the Sport Modified feature event.
   The top five fastest Sport Modified time trials redrew for starting spots in the 40-lap main event and Jason Hearne, who ran the fastest lap, pulled the pole position. Hearne led the opening circuit over Anthony Sesely, Dave Brigati, Tommy Wanick III and Todd Baer.
   Two quick yellow flags slowed the early going of the event when Frankie Althouse spun in turns one and two. Green flag racing resumed and Sesely kept his car in the high groove and led the second lap. Hearne fought back and recaptured the lead before Sesely led another lap following a lap seven restart.
