Baer Earns Top Ten
Finish at Mountain Speedway
(May 13,
2012)- For over three seasons now, “Nitro” Nick Pecko of
Vandling, PA has been trying to victory lane in the
Sport Modified division at Mountain Speedway. Bad luck
and gremlins denied him of that feat in the past, but
the curse has been lifted, as Pecko finally accomplished
the feat Sunday at Mountain Speedway.
Pecko started from the pole position and led the opening
circuit of the 40-lap Sport Modified main event over
Scott Adams, Todd Baer, Jim Bojohnny and Tommy Wanick.
With Pecko still in command, Dave Brigati worked by
Wanick for fifth on lap four and the disposed of
Bojohnny for the fourth position three laps later.
The first of four cautions flew on lap 15 When Robert
Fink and Wanick tangled in turns one and two. Both
drivers were forced to restart from the tail end of the
field.
With a clean restart, Pecko resumed the race lead and
Baer got by Adams for second. Six laps later Brigati too
the third spot from Adams.

Baer
Has Solid Top Ten in Mountain’s Modified Opener
(May 6, 2012)- Following a feature win elsewhere the
night prior, Bobby Jones of Palmerton, PA started
thirteenth in Sunday’s Modified feature at Mountain
Speedway. Jones wasted no time and worked into the lead
on lap eight and was barely contested for the feature
victory.
Todd Baer ran the fastest Modified lap in time trials
two weeks prior, but Barry Callavini drew the pole
position during the redraw and led the field to the drop
of the green flag in the 40-lap feature. Without a
single lap scored, the yellow flew when Nick Pecko,
Harry Buchman, Wayne Szerencsits and Allen Creveling
collected in turns one and two.
Callavini led the opening lap over Dave Brigati,
Baer, Jason Hearne and Zane Zeiner and then the yellow
waved on lap sic when Zeiner made contact with Hearne,
who shot up the track in turn one. Both drivers were
forced to restart from the rear of the field.
Brigati edged Callavini for the
race lead following the restart and Bobby Jones cracked
the top five., then ran fourth behind Ken Vogel.
Following a quick caution period on lap eight, Jones
stayed to the outside of Brigati and took the lead.

Baer Finishes Third
at Mountain Speedway
(April 29, 2012) After losing “The Captain” Bruce
Miglino, a crewmember and good friend of his, Dave
Brigati of Long Island, NY was determined to win the
Sport Modified feature at Mountain Speedway on Sunday.
It wasn’t an easy task for last seasons champion, but
when it was all said and done, Brigati and his team
stood tall in victory lane.
Nick Pecko started from the pole and led the opening
circuit of the 40-lap Sport Modified feature over Jim
Bojohnny, Scott Adams, Chip Wanamaker and Todd Baer.
With Pecko still in command, Wanamaker moved by Baer and
into the fourth spot on lap eight and Dave Brigati
cracked the top five two laps later.
The first yellow flag waved when Brigati and Baer
raced hard for the fourth spot. The pair bumped and Baer
spun in turn four. The restart wasn’t a success, as
Bojohnny and Adams tangled for a moment in turn one.
When green flag racing resumed Brigati got the jump on
Pecko and took control of the lead.
With eighteen laps complete, Brigati led over Tommy
Wanick III, who had quietly worked to the runner up
position. Paul Frantz held third, with Jason Hearne and
Pecko in tow.

Opener
(April 15, 2012)- Following time trials that were held
on Saturday, Mountain Speedway’s official 2012 racing
season took the green flag on Sunday. Following a quick
timed lap the day prior, Jason Hearne of Jacobstown, NJ
held off Rusty Smith to claim the Sport Modified feature

Jason Hearne, who ran the fastest lap, pulled the pole
